step instructions response
Please rate how important you think job site safety is (on a 1 to 10 scale). Be honest.
Did you know that you have to be trained by a supervisor in ladder safety BEFORE you use one on the job site?
Did you know that your supervisor has to be trained in how to train you in ladder safety (if you use ladders routinely)?
Go to the docs tab and open the Task Documentation. You will find the Ladder chapter of the Cal OSHA Pocket Guide for the Construction Industry there. Please read only the first paragraph. Select 'successful' when you are done reading.
You just read that the most common cause of worker injuries with ladder use are: 1) the use of faulty ladders 2) improper set-up of ladders or 3) incorrect use of ladders.

Do you believe you can learn to use ladders safely by avoiding these common problems?
Will you promise to ask your supervisor to show you how to use ladders safely before using them?
Will you promise to use ladders safely on the job site, and to continue to learn how to be safer with them?
If anyone asks you to use a ladder in an unsafe manner, will you promise to refuse, and to explain to them why you won't?
