Step 1

Were you able to watch one of the movies yesterday?

If so, what movie did you see?

If not, try as best you can to watch one of the films in the next 24 hours. If that's not possible, continue on to Step 4.

We understand that sometimes people have constraints they can't get around. Do the best you can. Continue on with the steps, beginning with step 4.

Step 2

Describe what you thought was happening at the beginning of the film versus the reality that was later revealed.

What was fact? What was false?

Step 3

Does the film make you want to be certain that you have reputable information before coming to any conclusions about an important matter?

Step 4

Really think about how life looks through the lens of pain and/or disappointment.

What we experienced early in life can distort reality.

The goal of this course is to challenge your assumptions, so that you'll find out what's really going on in a situation before you act on impulse.

How are you doing so far?

Step 5

Rate the frequency of arguments and/or hurt feelings since you starting doing the 'Perception vs. Reality' navigational steps.

Step 6

Here's an adage to live by:

Look carefully at the word, 'assume'.

Break it down.

When we assume, we make an Ass out of U and Me.

Both people feel humiliated. Not fun.

Are you catching yourself more and more and keeping yourself from assuming that your eyes are telling you the truth?
