Goal: this task will increase the proficiency of the goal to separate fact from fiction. (Perception vs. Reality).
Next Step - JP published this Cognitive Task at isodoit.com under Societal | Foster Care and Education | Interpersonal and Social Skills
Doers: 4 | Form: Cognitive Task | Phase: | Type: Primary | Level: 1 | Code:
Start: Dec 15, 2019 | When: | Duration: 10 Minute(s)
Steps:
  • Go to the 'demo' tab and hear another tune from Five for Fighting, called "Superman."

Let us know what you thought about the message when you've finished.
    response:
  • "It's not easy to be me." Hmmm...that's twisted, yet most of us can relate to it.

    Why?

Because somewhere down the road we thought "being me" wasn't enough.

We lost perspective about who we really were. It got covered up. We denied the best part of ourselves. We built a "house of cards" to keep people from seeing the real us.

At some point, we have to wake up and ask, "where did I go?"

Start there. How do you see yourself as a person?

    Describe yourself to you.
    response:
  • What makes you happy?
    response:
  • What gets you fired up?
    response:
  • How do you think others see you?
    response:
  • Do you see yourself the way you think others see you?
    response:
  • What do you think you have to do to get others' approval?

    Is it what you have?

    Is it what you do?

Is it pleasing others or being the center of attention so that others will like you?
    response:
  • Yesterday you saw that you were stronger, more resilient, more creative, smarter and more versatile than most your age. You've already won.

What are you fighting now that prevents you from being yourself?
    response:
  • Whatever you said is the thing that you have to let go of. It's the thing that's holding you back.

You're perfect as is. No need to hide behind a mask.

Doing so makes it incredibly difficult to hang onto the truth about yourself and the truth about others in general.

The single most important effort you can make right now is to be who you are at the core of your being, no mask, no props. Be you.

Then you'll see things you couldn't see before.

Will you simply be you starting now?
