Goal: this task will increase the proficiency of the goal to separate fact from fiction. (Perception vs. Reality).
Next Step - JP published this Cognitive Task at isodoit.com under Societal | Foster Care and Education | Interpersonal and Social Skills
Doers: 4 | Form: Cognitive Task | Phase: | Type: Primary | Level: 1 | Code:
Start: Dec 14, 2019 | When: | Duration: 15 Minute(s)
Steps:
  • Go to the 'demo' tab and watch the reaction of animals in a jungle when they see themselves in a mirror for the first time.

Tells us what you thought about the video when you've finished.
    response:
  • It was sad that the animals saw their own image as an enemy.

Of course there was no way for them to realize it, but the animals who showed concern did so based upon a false perception. There was no need to fear or feel threatened by their own reflection.

In the same way, what we perceive about others can be exaggerated based upon our perceptions, on a myth or lack of experience not fact.

We see ourselves and others - and others may see us - as a reflection of what's inside of us.

By now we hope you understand that people and situations may not be the way you've come to understand.

Maybe you aren't even the person you were led to believe.

Rate how much you've improved in discerning fact from fiction.
    response:
  • Take these tips with you as you set out on your life's adventure.

    When in doubt:

    STOP
    SMILE CONFIDENTLY
    MAINTAIN A CONFIDENT POSTURE
    DON'T ASSUME
    LISTEN
    SPEAK CALMLY
    FIND THE TRUTH

If you're not feeling so confident that day, then you may want to temporarily "try on" an actor or character in a book or movie, such as Will Smith in "Hitch".

How confident do you think these tips will make you feel in handling uncertain or tense interactions?
    response:
  • Take this thought with you, too.

You're stronger, more resilient, more creative, smarter and more versatile than most people.

You don't need to hide behind what you have, what others think of you or what you do as a way to measure your worth.

    Be you.

    You've already won.

    How strongly do you agree?
    response:
  • It's possible to achieve something bigger. When you believe it, you'll change the way you think. You'll enlarge your vision for your life.

    Mr. Brown says, "It's possible."

    Do you agree?
    response:
  • On a scale of 1 to 10, where would you rate yourself with "1" acting BEFORE thinking to "10" having the confidence to seek the truth and act accordingly?
    response:
  • To increase your momentum about what we've discussed in this isoCourse, we added a Perception Checklist for you in the "unscheduled' tab.

Go to the tab and can click on it.

Schedule it as often as you like. We recommend once a week.

It only takes about 5 minutes to review, but the rewards last forever.

    Will you do it?
    response:
  • Are you ready to advance to the next stage of your grand adventure?

If so, go to the 'unscheduled' tab again and select the isoCourse, "Say What?! Escape Drama".

As before, the isoBlogs run straight through for 21 days with no breaks for weekends or holidays.

If you're ready to continue, select "Yes".
    response:
  • Before you graduate from "Perception vs. Reality", we would like to offer you our hopes for your journey.

Understand down deep that your life is precious. You're a gift and a treasure just by being you. It doesn't matter what others think or what you have or do. You have nothing left to prove. It's been done.

Treat others to that example so they may feel encouraged to do the same.

We hope your confidence and your circumstances fine tune that magnificent "you" into the great man or woman you were born to be.

We hope the right people stand by you through it all, celebrating the milestones and offering strength and support during the down times.

We hope you gain the wisdom to know the truth from a lie and to have the courage to back the truth even if your struggle has to do simply with how you see yourself.

We hope you lead others in a way that inspires them to do the same always fighting for the truth to prevail and the wisdom to know what to do with it.

You have the strength, resilience, passion, intelligence and bravery to aim high. So dream bigger.

How much are you feeling it?
    response:
  • Do you think someone else could benefit from this course?

If so, please feel welcome to share the link by going to the 'Course' tab above and then select the 'Share' tab.

    Will you?
