Ladder Safety: Single and Extension Ladders

Start:Nov 17, 2019

Duration:30 Minute(s)

Goal: this Cognitive Trail will increase the confidence of the goal to apply Cal OSHA (ladder) safety standards on the job site

Step 1

Please rate how important you think job site safety is (on a 1 to 10 scale). Be honest.

Step 2

Did you know that you have to be trained by a supervisor in ladder safety BEFORE you use one on the job site?

Step 3

Did you know that your supervisor has to be trained in how to train you in ladder safety (if you use ladders routinely)?

Step 4

Go to the demo tab and watch the video. Select 'Successful' when you are done.

Step 5

OPTION: go to the docs tab and read the last page of the Cal OSHA Pocket Guide to the Construction Industry chapter on ladders. This will show you what is required in your safety training. If you do this, select 'successful' when you are done.

Step 6

You have just learned about ladder selection, inspection, set-up and care. These are the most important aspects of the use of ladders on construction sites. Please rate the video on a 1 to 10 scale for effectiveness.

Step 7

Will you promise to use ladders safely on the job site, and to continue to learn how to be safer with them?

Step 8

If anyone asks you to use a ladder in an unsafe manner, will you promise to refuse, and to explain to them why you won't?
