  • Exposure to Blood

Exposure to blood borne pathogens is considered a job-related hazard for construction workers who are assigned first aid duties in addition to construction work. Although construction employers are specifically exempted from General Industry Safety Order (GISO) 5193 requirements, they are required to provide appropriate protection for employees who may be exposed to blood borne pathogens when providing first aid. 3203
