IsoBlogs are simple to follow, step-by-step instructions toward a specific goal. For example, the goal of this isoBlog is to help you to create your first isoBlog.
To use these instructions while creating your first isoBlog, print this form by selecting the printer icon located at the bottom of this page.
From the isodoit.com website select the Create tab on your dashboard. You will see the option to choose 'advanced' or 'simple' create.
For your first isoBlog, we recommend that you choose the 'simple' create option.
Next, you will be asked to choose what kind of isoBlog you want to create.
For your first isoBlog, select the 'Tasks' button.
From the Create page, choose the isoBlog form that best fits the type of training you want to create.
For example, if you are creating a recipe or diet, you would select a Nutritive form. If you are helping your users with the way they think, you would choose a Cognitive form, etc.
If you need further help in choosing the right isoBlog form, you can click on the 'sample' box next to each isoBlog form and view an example before you select it.
Now that you selected your isoBlog form, you will be asked to give your isoBlog a name or title.
Name it whatever you like, you can always go back and change it if you come up with better title later.
After choosing your isoBlog name you will be asked to give your isoBlog a Location.
If you publish your isoBlog, the category you select will determine where isodoit.com users will find your isoBlog in the Store. It will also determine where you will find your isoBlog in your isoBlog library, located in the Manage feature. Choose a second category, if you wish, or select the 'Open' option.
In the 'New Location Name' field, name your Location. For example, after choosing the category of Cuisine, you could name your Location 'my food'. You can give it any name you wish. This will place your category(s) in the Saved Location field.
Now you are ready to write the Goal of your isoBlog.
Use the drop-down menus to choose the options that best describe your Goal. Then write out your Goal in the 'New Goal Name' field.
As you write your Goal, you will see the Goal sentence forming at the top of the page. Your Goal Name should complete the sentence formed by the drop down menus. For example: "This task will 'Increase' the 'Confidence' 'Of' the goal to 'Lose that last 10 pounds'.
When you are finished with your Goal, describe your task in the 'Task Description or Synopsis' box. Your users will see this description when they go to your isoBlog.
For future use, the Goal Name will be saved in the drop down menu located at the top of the page.
Next, you can add your own logo, background, documentation and/or video to enhance your isoBlog.
If you want to tell people more about what your isoBlog does, you can add a Hypothesis.
As you did with the Goal tab, choose from the drop-down menus to write your Hypothesis. Your Hypothesis will form at the top of the page as your select your options.
You can either choose from the Attributes in drop down menu or type your own Attribute using one or two words maximum.
Name your Hypothesis anything you like. For future use, your Hypothesis will be saved in the drop down menu at the top of the page.
If you want to make it easier for people to find your isoBlog, you can add Details.
In Details, you can choose from the Level, Type, Phase, Environments, Variables, and Attributes fields.
Remember to name your Details for future use.
Now you are ready to assemble your steps!
Start by going to the Duration field and enter the time you estimate it will take for your users to complete your isoBlog.
Next, choose the 'Zone' (period of the day) for your isoBlog. Click the '?' symbol if you need further clarification.
Your 'IsoBlog Basket' allows you to add unscheduled and assessment isoBlogs. The pop up in your IsoBlog Basket will direct you in how to add isoBlogs.
(Note: for further instruction in how to use the isoBlog basket, go to 'Learn It' and select the 'How to use your IsoBlog Basket' for assistance.)
Do your users need certain stuff (materials, food, books, equipment, etc) to do your isoBlog?
If 'yes', add elements (your stuff) to the isoBlog by selecting the Element Basket. The pop ups in your Element Basket will direct you in how to add elements.
(Note: for further instructions in how to use the element basket, go to 'Learn It' and select 'How to use your Element Basket' for assistance.)
In the 'instructions' field, type the first step of your isoBlog.
You may want to ask yourself a question like: 'What is the first step a person would need to take to achieve this goal?' (Hint: you can expand the field by using your mouse to drag the lower right corner of the box.)
After entering your step, choose a 'response' from the drop down menu. To see the all the response options your users will see in your finished isoBlog, select the '?' symbol next to the response field.
After completing your first step, select the save button, then continue to the second step and so on until you have completed your isoBlog.
Finally, go to the 'Protection' and 'Publishing' fields at the bottom of the Create screen and click on the '?' symbol. Read the pop ups, then select the option that fits your needs.
Congratulations, you have just successfully created your first isoBlog!
When you click the 'Save and Continue' button at the bottom of the Create page, you will see your isoBlog in the Manage feature. On this page you will find the url of your isoBlog along with the goal, description and other specifics. You can also choose to place your isoBlog in the isodoit.com Store for purchase.
If you have any comments or questions, use the 'comments to publisher' box at the bottom of this page...Now, go train the world!
